Kate L. Harrison is a best-selling author and entrepreneur who built and sold the leading green wedding marketplace in the country. She has a JD in environmental law from Pace and a Master's in Environmental Management from Yale. Today, Harrison runs a branding and marketing firm (Kate L. Harrison Consulting, LLC) that specializes in helping ethical business and nonprofits grow. 

 

Experience

Kate is the author of several books, including a best-selling green wedding book that launched her career as an entrepreneur. In 2009, she founded the venture-backed startup greenbrideguide.com, which she sold to mywedding.com in 2014. Over the 5 years she ran it, she grew the brand into the premier green wedding destination online and helped over 2 million brides go green with eco-friendly wedding ideas, products and services. She also created the country's first online green wedding professional certification course to teach wedding industry professionals how to green their businesses and attract eco-minded clients.

Today, Kate runs a communications, branding and content marketing firm specializing in eco-friendly businesses, nonprofits and green tech. Her clients include national organizations, health departments and high tech startups in machine learning, drones, and health tech.

Education

Kate graduated with honors from Vassar College with a B.A. in Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development. She went on to receive a M.E.M from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a J.D. in Environmental Law from Pace.
